Turquoise Dragon Sculpt

I haven't posted one of these in a long time, so I figured it was high time to rectify that. I spent pretty much all day Wednesday making him, and parts of Thursday finishing him up. I tried to make the pose a little more...dynamic than the others', but it turned out kind of weird instead. Oh well. At least he's unique.

The pictures kind of suck 'cause his unusual pose was hard to photograph nicely. Also, these photos do not capture his true color (despite desperate tinkering in Photoshop), which is more of a deep turquoise/teal/I-can't-even-properly-describe-it color. Anyway, the color is so much more richer and interesting than this blue color that shows up here. EDIT: I've re-uploaded the file after color-correcting it more extensively in Adobe Bridge; it's much, much more accurate now!

And I swear these things keep getting larger with every new one I make! I need to scale 'em back down. They are using up too much of my clay!


Technical: aluminum foil & masking tape; craftsmart polymer clay; fake gems; acrylic paint; satin varnish glaze.
